Stal Hendrix competition is heading towards the finals

21 June 2023

The fifth and last leg of the Stal Hendrix competition has brought forward three new winners today in Reuver. With that, the cards have been shuffled and it has become clear which four, five and six-year-old showjumpers have qualified for the finals of this leading competition. Those horses will compete against each other on Thursday the 20th of July at the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre.

The only four-year-old horse that received a 9 for his way of jumping today was the stallion On and On MB (Baltic VDL x Harley VDL) of breeder Mirjam Bierings. The judges Eric van der Vleuten and Kees van den Oetelaar gave this horse an 8.5 for his rideability under rider Jan Liebregts. As a three-year-old, this top talent was already selected for the KWPN performance stallion test. His good results made him claim the win today in Reuver. The talented Oline (s.Glasgow van ‘t Merelsnest, breeders Sjaak Mastenbroek and Ria Wiltenburg) followed with an 8 and an 8.2 under Dave Maarse, and the promising Oharraya CT (s.Gaspahr, breeder C. Teven from Swalmen) ridden by Micky van den Oetelaar ended up on the third place. These three horses are all qualified for the final. The 31 highest placed four-year-olds, calculated over four of five legs, are allowed to start in the final. The Jacadello mare Olivia HX leads the ranking, followed by Agalandro Keizersberg Z (s.Aganix du Seigneur) and O’Sole Mio (s.Untouchable).

De Weert first and second
Nadine Janssen jumped to the victory in the five-year-old class with the fast and careful Grand Slam VDL mare Nikita (ds.Boss, breeder Maatschap Janssen-Rutten). Two competitive horses and riders followed second and third: Renee de Weert aboard her powerful horse Nelson (s.Highway M TN, breeder family Kuipers) and Kristian Houwen with his well-jumping horse Nils SMH (s.Aganix du Seigneur, breeders Minne Hovenga and Ruud van Nobelen) . These two rivals are placed first and second in the league standings and that ensures a great battle for the final. On the third place in the standings follows Nazli (s.Eldorado van de Zeshoek). The best 30 five-year-olds are qualified for the final on the 20th of July. With the quality mare Morella VG (Zirocco Blue VDL x Andiamo, breeder Van Geel Horses from Erica) Renee de Weert secured her second victory within this competition in the six-year-olds class. With the best results, calculated over four legs, today’s runner-up Toulusha Key SR Z (s.Toulon, breeder of the Sleutels family from Roggel) under Yves Willems is in the lead. With a fast clear round, Dave Maarse and Maillorca (s.Detroit VDL, breeder Herman Voort) finished third in the six-year-olds class today. In the final competition standings, Murdock (s.Fellow) is placed second and followed by Mighty Ferry (s.Zerlin).
