Gaspahr, the 5* stallion with proven breeding value

The light-footed, scopey Gaspahr has been competing on international Grand Prix level with Giampiero Garofalo. In 2021 they claimed a top ten-result in the Rolex Grand Prix of Rome, after they had already secured the victory in the Grand Prix of Opglabbeek. Other highlights of his career so far are victories in the 1.50m-class at CSI3* Eindhoven and the Grand Prix of CSI2* Kronenberg, as well as the second place in the 1.55m-Grand Prix of CSI3* Lichtenvoorde and third places in the 1.55m-Grand Prixs of Ommen and Eindhoven.

With his Italian rider, Gaspahr has proved his value in Nations Cup competitions multiple times already, including in the finals in 2023. Paul Hendrix: “Gaspahr has been achieving good results at 5* level, while his oldest offspring are making an impression in the international classes.” Gaspahr passes on his quality, conformation and extra rideability. From his first crops, several offspring are making their mark at 1.50m level, such as Laska JDV and Lewis PK. Offspring like Marjorie, Mister Coconut and Carlin are performing well at 1.45m-level already. Also in auctions, the offspring of Gaspahr are popular.

His sire Berlin was for many years a true ambassador for Dutch showjumping under Gerco Schröder. They achieved sporting highlights such as team gold at the WC in Aachen and EC in Mannheim. In breeding, Berlin has distinguished himself thanks to offspring like H&M Extra, Athene, Zilverstar T and Zerlin. Also the damline of Gaspahr has proven its value and has already produced the Olympic showjumper Sterrehof’s Dante.
