Gaspahr proves his value at 5* level
The light-footed, scopey Gaspahr is competing on international Grand Prix level with Giampiero Garofalo. In 2021 they claimed a top ten result in the Rolex Grand Prix of Rome, after they had already secured the victory in the Grand Prix of Opglabbeek. Other highlights of his career so far are victories in the 1.50m class at CSI3* Eindhoven and the Grand Prix of CSI2* Kronenberg, as well as the second place in the 1.55m Grand Prix of CSI3* Lichtenvoorde. This year Gaspahr will be available with frozen semen only.
With his Italian rider, Gaspahr has proved his value in Nations Cup competitions multiple times already, including in the finals in 2023. Paul Hendrix: “Hopefully he can expand his track record with his rider in the coming season and be valuable for the Italian team. Gaspahr is achieving good results at 5* level, while his oldest offspring are making an impression in the young horse competitions.” Gaspahr passes on his quality, conformation and extra rideability. From his first crop, Daan van Geel’s Lumanda I, sold to Athina Onassis and Jan Tops, and Laska JDV stand out. The latter now belongs to the future prospects of Tim Stockdale. Also in sport horse auctions, the offspring of Gaspahr are popular.
His sire Berlin was for many years a true ambassador for Dutch showjumping under Gerco Schröder. They achieved sporting highlights such as team gold at the WC in Aachen and EC in Mannheim. In breeding, Berlin has distinguished himself thanks to offspring like H&M Extra, Athene, Zilverstar T and Zerlin. Also the damline of Gaspahr has proven its value and has already produced the Olympic showjumper Sterrehof’s Dante.
