Ocala Z.G. leaves for sport and breeding to Ocala

27 January 2023

The KWPN approved stallion Ocala Z.G. of Stal Hendrix will continue his career at Redfield Farm in Ocala. The very talented Cornet Obolensky son was approved last year with a total of 80 points and covered his first mares last season. His further career will be closely followed by his owners and he seems to be a real asset to the American breeders.

Ocala Z.G. (Cornet Obolensky x Diamant de Semilly) grew up in Kessel and completed the KWPN stallion selection process with great ease. He is a half-brother of the international 1.45/1.50m showjumping horses Intouchable ZG (s.Modesto) ridden by Enzo Chiarotto and Jive ZG (s.Zinedine) ridden by Michel Hendrix.

High expectations
In May 2022, the KWPN studbook approved Ocala Z.G. after completing the performance test with a total of 80 points, including a 9 for its excellent rideability. “Ocala Z.G. is a very complete showjumper with a very valuable pedigree. With his good conformation, pedigree, and athletic way of moving and jumping, he immediately raised the interest of our American colleagues. We have a close relationship with Emil Spadone of Redfield Farm in Ocala for many years, and after consultation we have decided that Ocala Z.G. leaves to his stable. He will be used there for sport and breeding,” says Paul Hendrix. “Ocala Z.G. has already arrived in Florida. We will of course continue to follow him closely and have high expectations of Ocala Z.G. as a showjumper. In addition, we look forward to meet his first foals that will be born in the Netherlands this year. Given his own qualities and good pedigree, Ocala Z.G. can definitely contribute as a good breeding stallion.”
