Irish rider Daniel Coyle was able to claim his first victory in a 5* Grand Prix this weekend, aboard the by Stal Hendrix sold Casall mare Cita. During the ninth week of the World Equestrian Festival in Florida, they were the only pair riding a double clear round in the Douglas Elliman Real Estate Grand Prix.

At the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, it was riding through a downpour for all 40 combinations. It was a highly competitive Grand Prix, and six went clear and advanced to the jump-off. As the only double clear in the class, Daniel Coyle and his Stal Hendrix reference Cita, a 12-year-old Holsteiner mare by Casall owned by Ariel Grange and Lothlorien, secured the victory. “I suppose I had a big advantage tonight with the last position in the jump-off. My plan was to be clear no matter what, because there weren’t any at that time so it worked out well for me! It’s really exciting, it probably hasn’t sunk in yet. My first Grand Prix five-star win, there’s nowhere better to do it than there.” As the Grand Prix winning owner, Ariel Grange received a two-night stay in a luxury studio at the Brazilian Court Hotel in Palm Beach.
