JPM International: Welcoming the world to Stal Hendrix

15 July 2026

From 26-31 May, Stal Hendrix welcomed riders from 31 nations to its home venue in Kessel for the JPM International – a CSI3*, CSI1* and CSIYH show that continues to combine exceptional show jumping sport with Limburg hospitality and outstanding facilities.

The 2026 edition attracted an impressive international field, with riders representing nations from across Europe, North and South America, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania. Among the standout names were Paris 2024 Olympic team gold medallist Harry Charles; Olympic team gold medallist, World Champion and former World No. 1 Henrik von Eckermann; and German showjumping legend Marcus Ehning, an Olympic team gold medallist, three-time FEI Jumping World Cup™ champion and one of the sport’s most decorated riders. They were joined by established championship riders including Willem Greve, Niels Bruynseels and Maikel van der Vleuten, who has claimed individual Olympic bronze medals at both the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

While the JPM International now draws some of the sport’s biggest names, its roots are much more personal. The first edition of Jumping Peel & Maas took place in 2009, when Janou Hendrix and two fellow students created the show as part of a practical training project. From that beginning, the competition has grown into a large-scale international event, organised by Timothy, Michel and Janou Hendrix, and in 2023 a new concept was launched: the JPM International at Michel Hendrix’s venue in Kessel. Since then, the show has continued to build its reputation as a welcoming yet highly competitive fixture on the international calendar.

As the home of Stal Hendrix, this year’s show also provided a platform for several riders connected to the operation, underlining the close connection between the sport and the Kessel-based stable behind the event. Notably, Stal Hendrix rider Oda Charlotte Lyngvaer enjoyed a standout moment on Saturday, claiming victory in the Kliniek Viasana Prix – Jumping Peel & Maas Masterspringen aboard her mare Maltic Dream.

The week’s programme combined top-level competition with atmosphere and entertainment, with standout performances across the international classes. On Friday, Belgium’s Anthony Philippaerts claimed victory in the CSI3* RAM Europe Prix – Grand Prix Qualifier aboard Gabell d’Arvor, before his brother, Thibault, secured second place in Saturday’s CSI3* Stall Schleifschrot Prix, won by Dutch rider Lars Kersten and Cascalino 7. Ahead of Sunday’s feature Stal Hendrix CSI3* 1.55m Grand Prix, home rider Tamara Klop won the Hansen Dranken CSI1* Grand Prix, while Portugal’s Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida claimed the CSI3* Desert International Horse Park Prix aboard Solidat. The competition culminated in Sunday’s CSI3* 1.55m Grand Prix, where New Zealand’s Luke Dee – who is trained by Emile Hendrix – and Gangster WW provided a fitting finale by claiming victory in the feature class, a major result at one of the Netherlands’ most competitive international shows.

From a student project to a six-day international event attracting riders from 31 nations, the JPM International has become a showcase for everything that defines Stal Hendrix: horsemanship, ambition, hospitality and sport at the highest level.
