Ultimo van ter Moude, proven but unsurpassed
In breeding it is not about young or old stallions, it is about good stallions. That can be assured by the Grand Prix stallion Ultimo van ter Moude. He successfully performed at the highest level with Todd Minikus, and jumped the Grand Prix classes with his fantastic ability, technique and winning mentality. Just like in sports, he did not get all the opportunities he deserved in breeding. But nothing can stop Ultimo van ter Moude. Out of a limited number of offspring, Ultimo has already produced a couple of very successful horses, and a good percentage of his offspring are competing in the international classes. One of his most famous offspring is Quartz Rouge, who participated with Jerôme Hurel in the 2015 European Championships in Aachen. Descendents such as Rouge Pierreville (Edwin Smits), Ramona de Flobecq (André Thieme), Jameelaty (Jean Francois Rondoux) and Rouge de Ravel (Guy Williams) are also competing in the big classes.
Ultimo van ter Moude is one of the last living sons of the legendary sire Capitol I. This influential stallion can undoubtedly be counted among the most influential stallions of the breeding of jumper horses. He sired more than 40 approved sons including valuable stallions such as Carthago, Cento, Cassini, Clinton, Carolus II and Indoctro. Damsire is the BWP ambassador Major de la Cour, who has produced over 30 Grand Prix horses, including Franke Sloothaak’s Olympic team gold winner Joli Coeur.
Ultimo is approved for Selle Francais and has earned the elite stallion status for the BWP studbook. His offspring have a lot of blood, athletic ability and jumping quality.
