Ocala Z.G., outlier with first class performance genes
With the in 2019 born stallion Ocala Z.G., Stal Hendrix has acquired a second high-quality son of Cornet Obolensky, in addition to the striking progenitor Cape Coral RBF Z. In the spring of 2022, this genetically interesting stallion successfully completed the KWPN performance test, after which he was approved with a total of 80 points.
Given his strong pedigree, his own talents don’t come as a surprise. Ocala Z.G. is the result of the combination of the international sport and breeding stallions Cornet Obolensky and Diamant de Semilly, who have both been highly placed at the WBFSH sire rankings for years. His dam Elanoir ZG already foaled the successful showjumper Jive Z.G. (s.Zinedine B), one of Michel Hendrix’s future talents. This mare was sold in the Dutch Sport Horse Sales as a five-years-old for €220.000 and is currently competing at 1.40m level. Dam Elanoir Z.G. has also foaled the international 1.40m showjumper Intouchable ZG (s.Modesto) and she is a half-sister of the international 1.60m showjumper Fer ZG (s.Nabab de Rêve) of Paolo Adorno as well as the 1.40/1.45m level competing Infinety ZG (s.I’m Special de Muze) and Cadiz ZG (s.Vancouver). This damline continues with the international 1.45m level performing mare Presley (s.Libero H).
In the stallion performance test, Ocala ZG made a good impression with his uncomplicated character, great rideability and balanced canter. He earned high marks for his good technique, scope and overview. For its rideability, Ocala received Z.G. a 9 next to 8’s for canter, technique, scope, attitude and ability as a showjumper.
