Ludovicus, promising athlete with perfect attitude
The very promising Ludovicus comes from the second crop of the international 1.50m jumping stallion Edinburgh. With his outstanding conformation, excellent attitude, powerful canter and surplus of athletic ability, this KWPN-approved stallion seems to be an asset for both sport and breeding.
The genetically interesting Edinburgh has often shown his jumping quality and since the end of 2019 he is ridden by top rider Maikel van der Vleuten. At the age of eight he finished second in the Grand Prix of CSI2* Mariënheem and in 2018 Edinburgh placed himself in the picture by finishing fifth in the Sires of the World (1.50m) competition in Lanaken. Ludovicus’s dam Fanetra is a half-sister of the 1.40m showjumper Douglas (s.Canturano) and combines the proven international sport and breeding stallions Balou du Rouet and Clinton, with which Ludovicus has great origines. This damline goes back to the Maykel-mare Fonetra, who has competed on 1.30m level and is listed as the granddam of Lauren Crooks’ international Grand Prix showjumper Dancer (s.Orlando) as well as the 1.45m jumping Elinck (s.Orlando) of Francisco Goyoaga Mollet.
In the performance report of the KWPN Ludovicus is described as an honest, reliable and sympathetic stallion with a good to very good attitude. The canter is powerful, active and has good posture and balance. Ludovicus is very focused on the jump and he jumps with good to very good reflexes and good use of body. Ludovicus seems to be careful and shows much to very much athletic scope. That resulted in a total of 83.5 points including 8.5s for the canter, reflexes, scope, attitude and talent as a showjumper.
