Kardinaal HX, the top athlete with two Grand Prix parents
Kardinaal HX has it all. An extra conformation, excellent origines and outstanding riding and jumping qualities. Both his parents proved themselves up to 1.60m level with Michel Hendrix, bringing together the leading Niki and Balia damlines.
Kardinaal HX is very similar to his Grand Prix dam Wimette, who has performed in the international sport for several years. This scopey mare is a half-sister of the international 1.50m jumping horse Zamette (Urs Fäh). Granddam Rimette is in turn a half-sister of the successful Grand Prix horses Nirmette (Markus Fuchs) and Sjarmette (Tim Gredley), causing Kardinaal HX represents a strong part of the Balia-family. His sire, Don Diablo HX, has already achieved several top rankings at 1.50m level and is also making progress as a sire. Among others, Don Diablo HX sired already twice the vice champion of the National Mare Show, Irmette Balia PJ and Jauanda T.
In the KWPN performance test, Kardinaal HX made a good impression with his athletic canter, good use of the body and surplus of athletic ability. In the report he is described as a stallion with lots of willingness to work. The canter is light-footed, active with a good space and a lot of balance. Kardinaal HX jumps with the body upwards, with good reflexes, good use of the body and a good technique of the fore- and hindleg. Kardinaal HX is very careful and shows much to very much athletic ability. Scoring an 8.5 for canter and scope, he came to a total of 81 points. At the KWPN Stallion Show he was already placed fourth in the champion ring and he is now being trained by Pieter Keunen.
