Kardinaal HX, from underdog to champion
Under Pieter Keunen, Kardinaal HX achieved an outstanding result in 2020 by winning the Dutch championship for five-year-olds in Valkenswaard. Paul Hendrix: “It was great to see Kardinaal HX performing so well in his first championship. Round after round he jumped with great reflexes and showed, especially for such a big horse, to be very fast and elastic. We have always believed in Kardinaal HX and in my opinion he definitely deserves the trust of the breeders.” The first offspring of Kardinaal HX combine good conformation with above-average qualities in free jumping. Given his solid pedigree, it is no surprise that he is an asset for sport and breeding.
The remarkable stallion Kardinaal HX is very similar to his Grand Prix dam Wimette, who is a half-sister of the international 1.50m showjumper Zamette and represents a successful family. Granddam Rimette is a half-sister of the successful Grand Prix horses Nirmette and Sjarmette, causing Kardinaal HX represents a strong part of the Balia family. His sire, Don Diablo HX, has achieved several top rankings up to 1.60m level and is making progress as a sire too.
