Stal Hendrix is known worldwide as an internationally-renowned jumping and trading yard. Ton Hendrix, better known as Grandpa Hendrix, laid the foundations in 1947. His passion for horses was passed on to the two brothers, Paul and Emile Hendrix (former Grand Prix show jumper), who proceeded to put Stal Hendrix on the map worldwide.
Stal Hendrix consists of 5 elements:
Trading stable - Stal Hendrix sells jumping horses to customers all over the world. The majority of the horses are sold to North America and to countries within the European Union. Stal Hendrix’s clientele includes top riders such as Ian Millar, Nick Skelton and Laura Kraut. They have been loyal customers for many years already.
Stud - Since the end of 2012 Stal Hendrix has its own stallion yard at the Kessel location. There, the stallions can be trained by the stable riders throughout the whole year. In this way they are their own ambassadors at the competitions. A win on the Sunday? Then requests arrive on Monday. An ideal combination between sport and breeding.
Breeding - Paul Hendrix is a breeder at heart who is very committed to breeding in general. In particular he is proud of the breeding in Limburg. There are about 25 foals bred at Stal Hendrix each year, and not just from the Hendrix stallions. Other Dutch, German, Belgium and French stallions are regularly used.
Events - Stal Hendrix organises five events annually. All the events have as purpose to promote the province of Limburg as an equestrian province. By facilitating for example a sales outlet for Limburg breeders, or by organising a national competition with international class. There are activities throughout the year.
Training - Emile, Timothy and Michel train riders from all over the world. Riders from America, Canada, India, Turkey, Finland and Sweden come to Limburg to learn how to master the skills. The American rider Lauren Hester has had Stal Hendrix in Baarlo as her home base in The Netherlands for several years.
